Update on John and Paul.
Paul was discharged from Lagan valley yesterday at 5:30pm with pain killers. I received a text from him this morning and he is still a bit sore but feeling better.
John was transferred to the R.V.H specialist fracture unit at 6pm last night from Lagan Valley.
He has broken his back in 4 places. (2 more found) They are deciding today what the best option is for him - full cast or operate.
Will update ... as I hear any other news

We went today to see just what they did hit. We found it and although it looks bad in the photo it doesn't stand out as you drive round. He landed in a drain after dropping around 5ft from the road. He was lying in 2" of water for some time so starting to get cold he decided to crawl up the bank. Someone caught him by the arms to help. I think there may be questions over the response time and the treatment he received from St. Johns. It was an hour and a half before he got into an ambulance. Hopefully he won't need operated on and will make a speedy recovery.

This is a message from Phoenix Board -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I think if race organisers add a bit to the entry fee to cover the ambulance costs (and tell this to the riders) most riders are more than happy to pay this.
When we ran the Irish Championships at Dundrod, the comm told me that he would not let the race start until the ambulance had arrived. It was a bit of a panic for us as the ambulance only arrived just before the race started. One thing that race organisers need to be aware of is that many events use ambulances and if you leave it too late to book one you may not be able to get one.
