Title of this thread is slightly misleading as I got dropped at Ballymena after about 30 miles, head went before the legs, you could nt half tell the racing season is nearly on us and the drags up onto the plateau made me decide to cut my losses, slow down a bit, and head out towards Glenarm then onto the A2 and down the coast to Larne and back to Carrick. Last I saw of Davy and Darren they were making their way towards the front. Lovely ride to Larne and then not so lovely ride to Carrick. 72 for the day at an average of 17.

well done peter. better doing 30 fast miles than 60 slow easy miles mate. keep it up and see you on sunday in lisburn AAAAAAAA PLUS That would depend on the time of year and the experts would say that this is not the time of the year. It all depends on whether you want to be 2% or 20% better than last year. Sure you will go well at the start of the season for the likes of Annaclone but so what, it's a long season. Tommy Evans was telling us he has never won Annaclone but I am sure you can name plenty of races he has won, more than you can name Annaclone winners We the 60 mile Sunday club learnt plenty over the past 2 Saturdays with Gerry and Tommy. Enough to look at winter warriors the way you look at Corsa drivers with an R plate and big bore exhaust.

Maybe they are not realising their full potential? Big fish, wee pond As Tommy told us on Saturday he was happy so sit at the back letting the warriors hammer away on training runs. Regardless of what he is was capable of he had a training strategy to keep to. www.coachingireland.com/article/article_134.shtml PS. hit mod instead of quote in post above. that is why my name is at the bottom

in my short time in this sport of cycling i have realised that every cyclist has an opinion, some wright, some wrong. the hair bears have went flat out from the start an we intent to keep going flat out. we would rather be known as winter warriors than not known at all. cycling is surpose to be fun thats the way we have approach it have a bit craic (enjoyment) if you do well thats a bonus if you don.t so what. some poeple analise some just go an give it a go thats what the bears have done an we are having a blast. just to finish of this started with you peter b im not going to tell you how to do it, but the only way to get better at any thing should it be cycling or life in general is that you have to keep challenging yourself so there go pete take from that what you like c u on sunday, keep er lite. p.s on a less serious note has anyone got a spare pair of pyjama.s cause this baines tube hasn,t took his east antrim outfit of since he.s got it ..

Well that pretty much says it-as long as everybody is having fun that's what counts. THe hair bears have certainly made life interesting and I take nothing away from you guys-always 100%. Lets face it wouldn't matter what time of the year it was it would still be too fast for me! Look forward to Thurs night time trials and trimming a little time off and hopefully able to keep up a bit better in the club races. We all just want to see you guys do well this year. As you say Keep her lit!!!

Yes you could take the whole thing to serious, not as if any of us are trying to make a living out of it.
Some times i think I don't take it serious enough. I don't even make it out some weekends never mind take a day of work every week to train.

Bob Serious enough to be out in that horrendous weather this evening! You were spotted in the lashing rain in Annahilt, at least I think it was you!! I can identify with the not taking it seriously enough, hard to fit everything in tho!
