Accreditation Weekend in Manchester Velodrome on 5th & 6th July 2008- cheap flights can be booked with Ryanair and bikes rented at the Velodrome. This is an ideal opportunity to obtain full accreditation in one go and will enable riders to go on and do Structured Quality Training (SQT's) in Manchester
For those riders who find it difficult to attend the Taster Skills Improver session on a Friday evening, and the Skills and Induction courses on a Sunday evening, there is an option to attend this weekend course to obtain accreditation. This course must be booked and paid for in advance and the maximum number on this course will be 16 candidates.
The cost for candidates is £29.00, and bike hire is £14.40. Payments can be made by using the form overleaf, or by cheque made payable to: THE VELODROME TRUST. It is also possible to book by phone, with a credit card. Phone reception on 0161 223 2244 (option 3). Payments made by credit / debit card will incur an additional 80p charge.
Please note that all our hire bikes are fitted with Look Delta pedals. We also have cycling shoes with Look cleats for hire, or toe clip adapters available for those who do not have Look-compatible cleats or want to ride in trainers. Cost of shoe hire per session £3.50. If you are bringing your own shoes, please ensure they are clean and free of mud and road grime, and the Look Delta cleats are not worn.
Candidates should already have some experience of riding Manchester Velodrome, and have enough fitness to ride 2 x 2 hour sessions on the same day.
Candidates can use their own bike, or hire a Velodrome bike. A gear of 84” – 86” is ideal for this course. See gear chart below. Please fill in the form overleaf, or photocopy and send to save this information.
The course is split into three elements:
