The weekly training runs down the towpath will start when the time changes . This is due to the fact that there are less walkers after dark. We leave the Island Centre Lisburn at 7 on Thursday evenings, returning around 9:15. Lights are a must.
With the wide variety of paths there is an option to suit most abilities, from 14 flat miles to 25 miles with some steep little hills along the way. All welcome, any questions phone Trevor 07714382158

With a MTB training night on 22nd at Drumkerragh or Tevenadarragh Forests. Reliability night would be more like it. No doubt lights will fail, tyres will burst and mechs will end up in the spokes if the last two years are anything to go by. I would think Tievenadarragh will be out as it will still be blocked with fallen trees. Drumkeeragh is the best bet, parking at Eddie Doyle's of the mountain road as usual

Is there to be a run around Drumkerragh on Thursday? Do you just park in that car park that you would cycle past if you were heading towards Dromara past Drumkerragh?

Last night I looked at the rain and felt that maybe I really did have a sore back but then I thought well why not? Arrived down at the Island Center to find that one, or two, others had been struck down by the bad weather disease. Needless to say 8 other 'fool' hardy souls arrived and we set off. It was a good run around belvoir forest and lagan meadows. A lot of dirt seemed to end up mon Bell's eyes and mouth, nevermind anything else. Oddly there was a lone lady walker strolling with her dogs in belvoir in the pitch black. She obviously hasn't heard that Mrs Bell was flashed at in here one time when riding a horse. No casualties but I do believe a certain Noel Gibson may have decided to try an emergency escape manevour over his handle bars when faced with the steep hill from lagan meadows to the towpath. If my bike and kit ever dry out I may return next week.
