Wicklow 200 entries opened last week - I have paid the 39 euro to suffer for a day in hills, is anyone else in the club thinking of doing this event?

a good challenge and excellent scenery and at €39 a bargain or what.... or what i guess.
I have nothing against paying €39 if the backup required if there in the form of water and food but there lies the problem according to messages last year on their message board. All very well getting a free Jersey but to be honest they are anything but rich carbohydrates. I think this is why you will see so many stopped at bars shops etc. They still do the tour but without paying the entry.
What we have planned to run along side the Hilly this year will provide more climbing than any other event in Ireland along with plenty of food in the way of two tea stops with the option of a hot meal at the 2nd stop if required through prior arrangement. Then at the end there is the free BBQ.
All for £15 Don't forget the showers and bar! No main roads, little traffic and the best views in the mournes

Pockets stuffed with gel and power bars it is then - I read the stuff on the Wicklow board about lack of fuel stops on the day, agree the price is a bit steep, but it's a one off for me and hopefully I'll be able to tick it off the list of things to do before....all my hair falls out
