Good run out today Glad I didn't take the Spelga option. Legs blew up and tank was empty between B hinch and Dromara. Sorry numpty, Jim and I were waiting just at Bhinch and I went on while he went back to see if you guys were ok. I didn't even have a spare tube!!so wouldn't have been much help.
Yes muck aplenty and good craic! Be back out in a couple of weeks, have to endure a few days skiing week after next and have kids to look after next Sun!

Once again Mr Bell let down his good family name suffering a little between Hilltown and Banbridge, but in all fairness I didn't realise I would be out all day so hadn't eaten any lunch. After a snack stop and the sight of the dual carriageway (or flat straight road home as I was liking calling it) I picked up a little and coasted home with 91 on the clock which was pretty pleasing. I think I may have to go home a little earlier next week if I want my wife and dog to still talk to me. Bob P added a nice touch to the run stopping at a shop near Banbridge and buying a bag of spuds which he bundled into that rucksack on his back wheel before proceeding up the road.

As stated at the top of this page, This Sunday the 19th, the start in Dromara at 09.30 and 10am in Dromore, heading for a tea stop at Oxford Island. This should be a flater route, allowing for plenty of training miles.

I take it we are meeting in the square in Dromore? Apart from Mac does anyone actually live in this direction? Well I know Peter does but he will AWOL pretending to be the Herminator.

I take it we are meeting in the square in Dromore? Apart from Mac does anyone actually live in this direction? . Been a while since I was last through Dromore but I do seem to remember seeing houses so there must be someone about. Although you have a point. Banbridge CC meet there every third Sunday so why are we meeting there? I think it would be a better idea to meet in Hillsborough. Anyone else agree? Dromara, Ballynahinch and Hillsborough would give enough variety without getting over complicated As for where, the centre/square makes the most sense. Best to be seen

To be honest I kinda of think we should just go back to meeting in Dromara except make the time 9.30, instead of 10. After all if I hadn't turned up there last week or you had not ridden out to Dromara Peter would have been just standing about on his tod. On future sunday's if we where meeting in Ballynahinch I would probably just go straight there. This means everyone will start doing this. It then makes hard to keep track of where we are starting. I think if you just make it Dromara that is pretty straight forward and you can't go wrong. We should publish the planned route and that way if someone wants to ride out to Dromara or turn early they have an idea of where they will be.

I think the idea was always to start in Dromara and then head in a pre-decided direction ie Dromore or Ballynahinch. This will allow anyone living in that direction to make arrangements to meet up and saving them from coming all the way into Dromara. Keep Dromara in Dromara !!!!

That is what I was saying, just go to Dromara. On Sunday only myself and Peter where in Dromara, everyone else including Dromara resident Jim met in Ballynahinch. In future I would probably be tempted just to cycle straight to Ballynahinch. Also if there are two stops that means hanging around in 2 locations waiting for people to show up which is unnecessary.

Yes was a good run today, including Spelga. So what about the profile for today John?? Here is the graphical illustration of Sunday's pain... Altitude by mileage, spot the hill in the middle ... Altitude by time rather than distance, with my hr, which shows I was, as usual, late setting off and my highest intensity effort of the day was from Saintfield to Ballynanhinch ! And for completeness, speed added on, but too much data on the one graph. Spot the fast descent out of Rathfriland ...
