Tonight I met John and Des at Shimna Valley Holiday Home….We received a warm welcome from Patricia Kidd, manager and chief organiser for the centre…and Gillian Creevy, General Manager of the NI Cancer Fund for Children
The evening started with drinks reception in the main house….. lovely mulled wine, tea and coffee….and an opportunity to meet with corporate sponsors, an others including, Lantern Rouge cc and the Chairman of Down District Council, Mr Eddie Ray….and better still, there on their notice board is…. Dromaracc colours….yes…. for the Trial Quest ( oooh… so exciting)
We then went to Narnia, the spectacular log cabin, where many sick children suffering from cancer come together for a holiday…. we had Christmas carols with the children from the local integrated primary school… most enjoyable .. we are so fortunate to have healthy, happy children…… and more drinks.…well it was a party…...
Back to the main house for a scrumptious supper…. and don’t ask…more drinks
Seriously.. this is work and heart rendering charity in action…. at least you can see where your contribution goes to and… it is local

Glad you had a nice evening at this superb facility.
I was there the week before meeting Patricia and staff with my 'day job'.
My Organisation are glad to support such a fantastic place with dedicated staff.
It was great to see DromaraCC represented on the noticeboard, I know Patricia values our Club's support. This is a really worthwhile charity.
