Could any one tell me, please, if there is a charity that refurbishes bicycles and sends the overseas or puts them back into the community? There seems to be a few in England, but I can't seem to find any here. I've looked at Freecycle, but would prefer it to go to some one who needs it, rather than (possibly) some one who wants to resell it. Thanks.

Stevie, was going to suggest Tools for Solidarity who have a workshop in Downpatrick on English Street and on the Crumlin Road in Belfast, but they do not take bikes, they also do not know of anyone in Ireland who does? Does'nt mean there is'nt just they don't know.
You could try Northern Ireland environmental link.

Thanks for that Peter. I'd looked into the Tools for Self Reliance lines, but hadn't found anything. I think years ago TSR did take bikes, but the thing is now bikes (relatively) aren't as expensive as they were. Freecycle, it is.
