Photo from www.cyclingulster.com Just myself and numpty out today, Ronnie was up for it but had to take the car for MOT. The weather could not have been better, reaching 21 degrees. As i have not done a lot of racing this year i got worried hearing that us vets were off with the 2nd cats. The pace was not so bad, at least for the first lap. at first I sat on the back but after 1/2 a lap worked through with the rest. On the next lap the pace went up and sleepy me ended up doing 3 turns in front within a mile meaning the legs were ffffery sore for the hilly part that followed. I decided to drop back and give numpty a tow and on the way back passed the remainder of our group who had been dropped with the increased pace mainly due to the fact that we had been caught by the 1st cats. I did a couple of laps with numpty and others before uping the pace to get some training in for next Saturday where I expect to be out the back on the first attempt of Ballykeel Hill. Richard Bell had a mishap on the the 3rd lap while on the climb over the finish line. Seems there was a bit of a low speed cash and Richards bike got the worse of it. Mainly wheel damage.
