Me and Nicola Oldam Banbridge CC, went to womans training day at the Emmaus Centre Swords, Dublin yesterday. It was an early start we left at 7am as we had to be there at 9am. We got a bit lost finding the place but eventually we arrived slightly late 9.30. There was about 25 of us out on our road bikes, Paddy Doran was coaching us he is a tutor to cycling coaches and he has thirty years experience of coaching cyclists at international level. We were out for an hour an half which was really good and it was nice to meet other woman cyclists who are going to do racing this season. After our spin out we went back to the centre we had tea and coffee and then Paddy Doran gave us a talk for an hour on training sessions and we were able to ask him questions. For more info his web site www.coachingireland.comThen we had our lunch which was very nice, we had starter, main course, and dessert and tea/coffee. After that we had a talk on bike maintenance and i learnt alot from that. Our last talk was from a girl called Kate Kirby on Sports Psychology which was very interesting. The day was over after 3oclock and it was definately worth going down. We really enjoyed ourselves and a big thank you to the organisers. There is another training day on 3rd March.
