Early start on a mixed day weather wise, plenty of cloud, mild some drizzle. Met in Ballynahinch at 8, for a 9.30 start in Lurgan. Maybe 40 bikes out, a lot from the Clan and Apollo, some from Banbridge. Ronnie, Marcus Davy and Peter B wearing the white which rapidly became the grey with black spots when the road scum started flying.
Triangular route, Lurgan, Portadown, Armagh, Dungannon, Portadown,Lurgan. First 25 miles at an average of around 16, next 35 at about 20 average, I had 62 at an average of 18 at the end and I blew with about nine miles to go. Ronnie and Davy did there fair share at the front and for the most it was an enjoyable run if a little hectic at the last. Soup and a Roll and home for 2.
One highlight one low light, after I got dropped tried to get on the back of the group and got a tow from the Apollo car up to the group...crackin, if a bit wobbly. Got there and straight out the back door again.
Lowlight - getting lost with two miles to go after following another straggler, who it turned out was on his way home.
From what I hear, Nigel, Steven, Marcus, Hamilton, Ronnie, Gary out on Saturday with about 45 done.
