Dear all,
Just to cover a few things as we enter the warmer part of the year and things begin to get a bit busier.
Would be a great help if everyone gets their membership up to date - this means letting Martin know and coughing up. Hopefully next year we can get this membership renewal out of the way before the AGM so Martin does not need to chase people into the Spring. PLEASE CONTACT MARTIN.
Can I ask all club members to look at the Club Calendar and volunteer for marshalling or time keeping duties throughout the year if you have not already done so. We need the membership to support the league to continue it's success and the safety of those taking part. Either put a post up for dates that suit or contact Martin and Volunteer. We need to develop the number of time keepers in the club so if you are interested in learning to 'herd cats' put yourself down to volunteer alongside someone who has a bit of experience of doing the job. The marshalling role needs the numbers especially at club races so if you can bring friends or family we will gladly use the extra help.
The two up's are nearly upon us - for anyone who has not done a time trail- give it a go - it is a great way of learning the ropes, pushing your training on and pushing yourself harder. There are a few posts on the board of people looking for partners so why not give it a go - your only competition is yourself. Stick up a post if you want to get a partner or want more information about time trialing - what's it all about, why do it and what you need to know? - These are all questions we all ask ourselves about the TT's, no matter how many times you have gone against the clock.
The April Super Sunday run has had to be cancelled due to diary congestion - it just means we make the MAY run even bigger. Since it is a week before the Coastal we can maybe use it to cover the route and assess the state of roads and as a good training run for those thinking about doing the Coastal. So put the date in your diary Sunday 01 May, 9.30 at the Square.
Many thanks for your continued support
Peter
