This is going to be a bit general as I really have no idea where we went today. Ronnie, Badger, Gary, PeterB and David out today joined by Hanilton of the BT club. Beautiful morning for it, very little wind, sunshine the whole way, mainly dry roads but plenty of road scum to keep the protein levels up. We/I may have mudguards, but they dont work!
Headed out of the Hinch and followed many wee roads to Hillsborough and then on past Lisburn, where we left David who headed home his work done for the day after an early start, ended up on the shores of the Lough and then turned for home after a quick stop for caffine in a town (!?) Hamilton left us near the Maze promising to return and possibly bringing others. The pace upped near Hillsborough and on into Ballynahinch, with some eye popping stuff over the last 5 miles. All in, it was 50 miles at an average of just over 17.
Plenty of chat on the way round as people looked forward to the new season, dreamt of new purchases and moaned about anything remotely related to health and fitness. What more could you ask for.

I opted for the Cyclo Cross champs in Banbridge which was an excellant day out. It was a superb course but sticky and slippy in places as well as a lung busting climb at the start of each lap. My eldest son Zak came 2nd in the u-10's on his new bike which he was delighted with. Ben came 7th in the u-8's on his new bike(Santa was good in our house ;D) and he managed the two laps almost on his own. He is only six. Im not sure were numpty and Davy finished but both done really well.I managed 4th in the Mtb race but felt i could have been placed if i had'nt fell off twice and did'nt try to catch Paul Anderson at the start .But a real good day out.

Fair play Deek to you, the family and the rest who competed in the Cyclo Cross - I read the report, it sounded like a great day. Good Job!

Route was - B'hinch-H'boro-Maze-Ballinderry-Aghalee- Moira(coffee stop) - H'boro & home.
I went out on my own yesterday p.m. for a couple of hours (its always best to wait on the rain I think!!). I bumped into Anne M, Dessie, John R & co & we were commenting on the sunday run or more precisely not turning up for it.
I know I am to blame as much as anyone else, but do people not think it is about time we all made an effort to be in Dromara on Sunday mornings. (although I would prefer a 10.00a.m. start like Sat) If not, the Sunday run will disappear altogether. For those who go out on the sat. training run it can be used as a recovery ride. Lets get numbers out on the road again.

Just a line to say that the Sunday run is still on Deek, Gary and Trevor went, from Dromara at 09.30 to Banbridge, Scarva, Guilford, Moira, Hillsborough and Annahilt. As the rain was threatening we did not have a tea stop. Meet two other Dromara riders in Donagacloney, John McDonald and John Oliver, great to see him fit and well as he was badly crushed by a lorry last spring. If you want to change start time, start a thread and see what happens. As it is the MTB riders are spending more time on Dromara rides than the roadies. I am now starting to sound like Bob, More bums on bike please or else every other Sunday will tun into mtb days out. Trevor

Maybe if a lot more spent some time on mountain bikes they might learn some bike control and be less likely to fall of their road bikes.
I would be more in favour of a 10 start as is numpty. We could always change it to 9:30 for BST and 10:00 for GMT. Time for a pole
