North Down Physio and Dave Kane Cycles would like to invite you to an evening seminar which is 'geared' up specifically for cyclists. The guest presenter will be Biomechanics Podiatrist, Athol Thomson (multisportpodiatry.com) who has had over 12 years experience of bike fitting and analysis of cycling biomechanics with elite athletes. He has worked with World and Olympic Champion triathletes in his home country Australia, and more recently provided bike fitting services to Commonwealth Games medal winning cyclists from Ulster and the Irish institute of Sport.
The importance of professional bike fitting is becoming more evident as cyclists and triathletes attempt to stay injury free whilst finding the most efficient position to train or compete in.
Athol will be demonstrating this invaluable 'Bike Fit' service which involves a video, frame by frame analysis of the cyclist and finesse adjustments of the bike to fit the riders' build and biomechanics.
He will also discuss specific cycling injury prevention.
Julia Webster, owner and senior physiotherapist of North Down Physio, will be presenting and demonstrating a new physio technique known as the Sarah Key Method. This method is particularly effective for the treatment of back pain - a common ailment with cyclists. Julia will also be offering up a few hints and tips on injury management.
Paul Kane, of Dave Kane Cycles, will also be there to feature some of the latest cycling products that are on offer in Northern Ireland's premier cycling shop.
The event, which is free of charge, will be held on Thursday the 9th December at Esporta Health Club, 106 Belfast Road, Holywood. Tea and Coffee available from 7:45pm, seminar starts at 8pm.
To register your interest in this event please send an email to julia@northdownphysio.com or paul@davekanecycles.com or contact Julia on 07821 128 424
