COMPETED IN THE RELAY SECTION OF THE PORTAFERRY TRIATHLON TODAY, 1ST TIME IT HAS BEEN RUN IN 10 YEARS. IT STARTED OFF NICE AND BRIGHT IN THE MORNING, WHICH WAS SOON TO CHANGE INTO A STEADY DOWNPOUR. BY THE END WE DONT KNOW WHO WAS THE WETTEST OUT OF THE 3 OF US, SWIMMER, CYCLIST (ME) OR THE RUNNER. I THINK WE FINISHED 5TH OR 6TH OVERALL AND 2ND OF THE RELAY TEAMS, I HAD A 25 MILE RIDE TOO DO, AND WENT OFF TOO FAST AND PASSED ABOUT 20 RIDERS ON THE 1ST LAP, I PAID THE PRICE FOR THAT AND PARKED THE CONTENTS OF MY STOMACH ON THE MOVING ROADSIDE, NOTHING NEW THERE EH! THIS WAS ONLY THE 1ST OF 4 LAPS. GOT TOTALLY SOAKED INTO THE BARGAIN, BUT KEPT MY TOPHALF DRY WITH THE AID OF A BIN LINER UNDER MY SKINSUIT AND IT WORKED A TREAT. WAS AN ENJOYABLE DAY, HOPEFULLY THE NEXT 1 WILL BE DRY.
