Banbridge CC are launching an ‘Introduction to Cycling’ series, to be held on Monday evenings from the 14th June for 4 weeks. The series will use the supporting road structure and car park of ‘The Outlet’ shopping complex on the outskirts of Banbridge, adjacent to the A1 dual carriageway.
Aimed primarily at introducing the local community into cycling, the series will allow participants to confidently make use of their bikes and take up cycling as a healthy leisurely past time. The series also invites those who may have already taken up cycling as a past time but wish to develop existing skills, enabling them to partake in group rides and organised cycle events.
During the 4 week series there will be both on and off the bike sessions, including;
-Bicycle Handling Skills
-Bicycle Maintenance, Safety & Setup
-Group Riding
-Ride preparation; Nutrition, Equipment and Clothing.
-Road Safety
-Introduction to competitive cycling
Places for the series are limited to 40; however, there are plans to run a second series from the end of July. A joining fee of £15 is asked (£5 for under 16’s), which includes an introductory Cycling Ireland licence, providing cover for personal injury, and third party damage/liability when cycling as an individual or as part of an organised leisure event for the remainder of 2010.
For more information on the series or to register your place, please contact Aaron on 07713 147968.
