An excellent event and an excellent charity.
Ivan has worked hard this year promoting this event and has even extended an offer to the cycling fraternity to join in without having to swim or run. From the website, go to Register Now and you can find an option for "Early Bird Entry Fee Cycle Competitor" for £20. This will allow you to enter just the cycling part which is a 45 km. Read description below....
"THE BIKE 45Km You'll be on roads the whole way from Kilbroney Park (Rostrevor) and through the Mournes. These roads will be a challenge to most, you'll have some climbs but you'll always have the reward of heading back down the other side, you'll be taken right through the heart of beautiful scenery of the Mournes and in doing so you'll travel along the highest section of sealed road within them. Any bike will do for this section but a road bike will suit best. You might think that because it's all on roads that this will suit the triathletes but we've thrown in a few hills & a twist just for good measure."
There will be a timing system in place and you can get a print out of your time at the end. These times will then appear on the website.
Saturday 15 May 2010.

HI folks, thanks for posting this here, would just like to add a few words here. See below in bold. An excellent event and an excellent charity. Ivan has worked hard this year promoting this event and has even extended an offer to the cycling fraternity to join in without having to Kayak or run. From the website, go to Register Now and you can find an option for "Early Bird Entry Fee Cycle Competitor" for £20. (Don't forget to enter DQIFB and get a £5 discount) This will allow you to enter just the cycling part which is a 45 km. You might think that because it's all on roads that this will suit the triathletes but we've thrown in a few hills & a twist just for good measure." More on the twist later remember it is part of a multisport event and as such we hope you can enter into the sprit of the event.
There will be a timing system in place and you can get a print out of your time at the end. These times will then appear on the website. Saturday 15 May 2010.

Don't forget the early entry fee for the 45km hilly time trial that is part of this Diamond Quest. £15. A well organised event for a good cause. Timing device will be in place. You can do it as a team pursuit with a maximum of 4 riders in a group. Good tight hill climb with fast descent! If any Dromara ones enter I'm gonna nip down and take some photos
