Peter Bryson & myself are meeting in Ballynahinch @ 6.30pm. We intend to do 1.5/2hrs (depending on light). If anyone else is interested we will see you there.

I'm riding the Dave Kane League 25 if anyone wants to come along. I'm happy to do the driving. If anyone knows where the course is ( in the absence of any published information perhaps this league should be renamed 'the league of gentleman' ** ) then please let me know. ** This is a local race for local people, there's nothing for you here.

Cows may be friends to you country folk but I'm only used to seeing them from a distance or on a plate and they have a look in their eye that gives me the heebeegeebees.
I've never seen cyslists ride through a herd like that before and I was having none of it. I would most certainly have been trampled to death.
And chickens. And pigs. I don't go near them either unless they're in a pie or sausage.
As to my recent cycling it seems that one minute I feel ok the other I'm knackered and for the last hour of the sportive I seemed to have a 'Landis moment'.
At least one thing is constant - I always find it pretty easy to lose all sense of direction.
I'm off to England (and Wales) on Friday for a week and half so see you all on the bike when I return.
And what a shame Glyn didn't win big brother.
Cymru am byth,
John

;DWe had a great wee jaunt out this evening. Peter 'I look doped in the newspaper photo' Bryson, Stephen Wallace, Bill 'I've a battery not a belly' Mc Kelvey, Ted Mc Kibben and me headed out via the back roads towards Ballynahinch, Ballygowan and Saintfield ....... Just like the film Braveheart ......Wallace was leading the way attacking at the front and we just followed....... Great craic .... fellas were chatting so, so much I couldn't get a word in! :-)

I had a wee gaunt myself tonight but I wouldn't describe it as great.
All went wrong on a downhill part of the course when i hit a bump wrong, sending me over the drop to the side and then over the bars landing hard face first. Nose and lip cut but my neck took the worse of it.
I hate cycling!
