DOWNEY SECOND IN FRANCE By Shane Stokes Mar 15, 2010, Young Irish rider Sean Downey clocked up a fine result yesterday when he took second in the Grand Prix de Bohas in Ain. The VC La Pomme rider was clear in a successful break and sprinted home behind Bruno Chardon (UC Barisienne) and ahead of Rémi Pompanon (SCO Dijon). Downey is based in France with the team, which helped a number of riders including Irishmen Mark Scanlon, Nicolas Roche, Philip Deignan and Dan Martin to pro contracts.
