I have a bit of a niggle in one of legs so not sure if I will be out in force this weekend. Banbridge are having a club hilly TT starting near Moneyslane tomorrow morning so I imagine a few might take a run at this. Marcus is out of action on a saturday for another month. Nothing much else to report I am afraid.

Some of us are heading to the Hilly TT in the morning. It starts at 11 so we will to be passing through Dromara around 10:20 therefore leaving Ballynahinch at 10. If you are interested give me a ring in the morning 07745672320 as we have to lift the bike so will meet you on the road to Dromara.

GGGGRRRRREEEEEAAAATTT turn out for Sunday's spin ... which I thought was surprising as everyone new beforehand it was going to be uphills - I think we should change ourselves to Dromara Cycling Nutters So the following 15 went out: Killyleagh Peter, Stevie Wallace, Big Davy, Welshie John, Deek, Ronnie, Nigel, John Ruddell, Anne, Dessie, Bob, Bill Mc Kelvey and new lad Ted .(numpty and me) Left Dromara -everyone looking dead smart in their new Dromara Kit.. we headed - along wee country roads - up hills, down hills... I, like the majority didn't have a clue where we were going .. just following our leader Bob.... " We will follow him .... follow him wherever he may go! Ahh,Ha " ( Sister Act tune - sing along!) And like the song " There isn't an ocean too deep - a mountain so high we can't reach" .... " Reach for the sky" We'll as we climbed Yellow road - heads were definitely in the clouds .. that high and that steep - views are fantastic. The downhill is a bit scary - if your'e a woose ike me ... After that.... it was Spelga - the only Spelga I wanted to see at that time was the yoghurt variety as I was so hungry.... but oh no ..... as we climbed up the hills .... people were hallunicating about Beans on toast. I was a bit worried as when I reached the top Ted and K'leagh Peter were contemplating eating grass ...we were that hungry. Great stop in Meelemeore - those that got there early kept dry. The rest of us looked like drowned rats. It was great to see numpty there and there was Good company, craic and food. Everyone then headed home, we split at Bryansford- some headed towards Dromara others headed Ballynahinch. It was a great day .. Cheers to all. ;D

Swimming in the sea is much better....after all why bother unless there is a good chance of death? Leg feeling kinda of ok. I went for an easy spin for a couple of hours yesterday. I saw the try guys speeding about on their bikes. How come you are allowed tt bars in a triathlon whenever it could effectively be a bike race....are there any rules about riding in a bunch? Are you not allowed to sit on someone's wheel or the like?

TimeTrial bars are allowed in triathlons as you aren't allowed to draft. See below...........
Drafting is the term to describe the act of taking shelter behind or beside another competitor or vehicle, within the “Draft Zone” during the cycling segment.
Competitors are not allowed to Draft and all competitors must reject any attempt by others to draft.
Drafting is allowed, by exception to the normal rule, in certain ITU, ETU and Championship events. In such circumstances the Rules of the ITU, ETU will be applied.
A competitor who does not clearly avoid violating the drafting rules may receive a penalty.
In Sprint and Standard Distance events the “Draft Zone” is a rectangle surrounding every competitor that is 3 metres wide and extends to 7 metres behind the front wheel of the competitor's bicycle. The front edge of the front bicycle wheel will define the centre of the leading 3-metre edge of the rectangle. A competitor may enter the draft zone but must be seen to be making forward progress. A maximum of 15 seconds will be allowed for a competitor to pass through the draft zone

Where is the fun in that....what with running around wet and tting wet. Think of the chaffing. Maeve you wanna give all that up and just take up the bike racing...just miles and miles of gritting your teeth. Much better!
