Low attendance last night again but popular consensus was that next week we return to the Annahilt Triangle. In order for this to be worthwhile we need people to put in an appearance so let's see everyone out giving it a go. For those less inclined to punish themselves racing why not turn up and go with a slower group for a bit of craic. After all have you seen Trevor's handicap system.

Rumor has it that Jan Ullrich may be turning up to do the triangle now he has a space in his racing calender. Ivan Basso may be next.

Basso is free to attend the triangle race as well, he's been named - what a mess.
Good luck to all you racers tonight.

My respect for 'try' athletes grows all the time. By the time i have finished cycling, thinking about cycling, looking after my bikes and wasting my time on websites like this there is not a whole lot of time left over. My running has all but stopped, although I will probably get back to it come September. Last night I actually cut the grass and some other tasks with a similar theme instead of watching the world cup semi....like imagine that. Oh yeah Maeve you better watch out I swam a 'whole' 4 lengths of lisburn pool the other night after I had been to the gym .... and you think you are good swimming a few feet in San Fran bay

Rich .... With all this secret training you should do Lisburn City Triathlon on Sunday 30th July at the Leisureplex.
(as long as you don't beat me!) Remember rest is just as important as training .... :-) Keep her lit! m ;D

Good turn out last night. I couldn't tell you who did what as the handicap was perhaps a tad generous and the only time I saw anybody was at the finish. It didn't help in the back group that my two friends Darren and Ronnie seemed like they needed a good sleep. I mean there is something wrong whenever I am not the one suffering. I think that the handicap's need to be revised and the number of groups reduced. I think we had 5 groups last night and only approx 20 or 25 riders. We probably need to bring this down to 4 and reduce the time gaps a little. Also we may want to start posting up a list of marshalls to ensure we get full coverage. I know we aren't always going to know who is coming to marshall but we could try the next couple of times to see how we go. Had I known we didn't have enough to cover all corners I would have tried to get da Bell to come down.

Thanks to all who helped last night and to all who took part. It seems i have been getting into a lot of trouble this week. I better start by apologising to Stephen Wallace & Peter Jamison, who i had talked out of a Hilly training run to take part, for the shambles just after the start. The first lesson to be learned is when we start each group off, we try and stop the traffic to give us a clear run through the village, the second lesson I have learned is to ensure that the others in the group listen to me and slow down. As Richard has said already we should have had another marshall an Ballynahinch and as i was organising the event i should have done that my self. As to the handicaps and number of groups, the 1st groups away will have their handicaps reduced and i would be quite happy to have less groups behind if they would all ride together and help each other. So i am sorry things did not go as planned. I hope this does not put anyone off Dromara CC. Some of the new members may not know me to well, but the rest of the members will tell you i work hard for the club and do try to may sure all runs well and we pull together and not apart. It also has be made clear to me that i may have annoyed and upset some members at monday nights meeting by may off the cuff remarks for which i am sorry. There are no events planned for next week and i wish all taking part in the 200 miles in a day, the best of luck. I did think of coming along for 100 miles, but 5am is to early for me. To all have a good holiday and see you soon Trevor

Well I'll be the first to volunteer as a marshal if required at the next event.
