Club Race Thurs 29/06

Starting at the moira road, Hillsborough. I believe Newry 3 day crew to marshall. I am anyway. After a low turn out for the last race let's see everyone out in those go faster shorts giving it their best.

Tough race tonight,held onto Trevor and Peter for most of the race but the final few miles done me in. Thought i was going to take 3rd until Noel and Marcus came out of nowhere Well done Trevor with an excellant win. The head wind on the ride home was a real killer, this road business does'nt get any easier!!

Only 7 out last night! What's that all about? Has everyone had enough of cycling for the year already? The circuit was a triangle starting on the moira road and coming back up that hill. It looked like a tight enough course of about 4 miles. Due to lack of numbers they only did 4 laps. Trevor was riding and picked Peter and Derek for his group. I think they wanted Peter so he could break the wind for them on the 4 laps while Trevor held himself for the sprint. Back in the other group we had Marcus, Nigel, Noel and Gary. Trevor's group had 4 minutes on them and the boys never pulled them back. Trevor pipped Peter by a few inches on the line. I think Peter let him out of pity It was a hard fought finish taken by the prize fighter. Marcus and Noel came in 30 seconds later followed by Deek, Gary and Nigel. The marshalls for the evening were 3 lads covered in fake tan and sun in (Davie, Darren and Ronnie) and a rather handsome athletic looking chap (Mr Bell)...you see I really can write what I want. Next week we are returning to the Annahilt Triangle. The marshalls from this week will be returning to riding and the ards lads should have recovered from their crit. Let's hope to see a few more people in dromara shirts out on their bikes.
