The Bangor Coastal is on Sunday 21st June and will be an ideal event for new club members. It is a similar distance to the Dromara Coastal 65 mile event and it would be really good to have a big Dromara presence at the start line. I have pre-registered and I would advise anybody thinking of doing the event to do so soon at www.entrycentral.com. I am going to see if we can provide our own Dromara support vehicle to carry wet weather gear (if needed) and to give specific assistance to Dromara riders. Lets show them who the fastest growing cycling club in Northern Ireland is!

Lets show them who the fastest growing cycling club in Northern Ireland is! Trevor tells me we have now passed the hundred mark. What's even better is the fact that they are all out there on their bikes!

The Bad News - pre entry for this event is indeed closed and limited to 700 names.
The Good News - you can still turn up on the day and make yourself known to the sign on. They know that not everybody pre-entered turns up on the day so they have a reserve list of up to 100 possible names.
So you still have a good chance of getting in on the event if you are early and get in the queue for the reserves. Alan Reid and Anne Maguire got in as reserves last year no problem.

The cyclists will leave Bangor's Sportsplex at 10 am and proceed via Old Belfast Road, Rathmore Road, Bransburn Road, Grays Hill, Seacliff Road, Ballyholm Esplanade, Groomsport Road, Donaghadee, Millisle, Ballywalter, Ballyhalbert, Portavogie, Cloughey, Ardminnan, Portaferry. Returning via Shore Road, Abbacy Road, Deerpark Road, Rowreagh Road, Portaferry Road, Newtownards, Bangor Road, Rathgael Road, returning to Bangor Sportsplex from 1.30pm onwards. The first cyclists should reach Portaferry around 11.30 However, most of those taking part will fit into the category of being simply 'cyclists for one day' and they will take much longer to complete the journey".

Stephen & numpty, both Jim & I are taking part, we're registered a couple of weeks back. Should be a good day (if the weather behaves itself). Looking forward to it. See you there.
