Hope you all have sore legs after today. 13 out and a total of 5 punctures, not bad.
Next week should we head next Meelmore lodge?
Just that the trailquest is based from there and Trevor will be glad of the company. I will look out the flattest route to it and from it.

Totally agree with Peter, excellent run and yes Bob my legs were sore as well. I had 80 miles up by the time I got home. I didn't envy John having to go on until Saintfield!! I think John's strategy is the right way to go i.e. steady intensity, same HR on the flat, ease off on the hills but keep the same HR and when you reach the top, pedal to keep the same intensity.

Me,Anne,Stephen and Sam did a shorter route after the towpath, headed to Gilford,Banbridge,Hillsborough then home we did around 72 miles. It was an enjoyable day a few of us were tired and stopped to get some energy bars.We had two punctures on our way home thanks to Stephen who helped us. I forgot about Richard he headed back himself as he had to get home.

Top day out. Tired legs today. I got 93 on the clock again, but it seemed much easier than last week, probably because that big hill in the middle didn't feature in this weeks run. Davy seems to be defying gravity - quite remarkable. Good to see Bob feeling the strain of the miles with the rest of us for once Probably won't see it again. Thanks to Steve for words of support of my steady-method which many find a bit odd. It seems to help me on the longer rides but it takes a lot of will-power and self-control to let someone ride away from you on a climb ! In a few weeks time I expect to be back to normal on the climbs, which is much more fun. For those of us that don't mountain-bike, I'm keen on meeting up in Dromara/Ballynahinch on Sunday 26th for some more long and steady miles, if anyone else is interested.

Was that the flying welshman I saw yesterday going through Darragh Cross on the backroad to Killyleagh about 6:00, is it possible he did not go home on Sunday and just keeps on going, touring the towns and villages of south Down ?

Knowing his sense of direction and the fact that he doesn't know Saintfield when he sees it he is most likely still trying to find his way home

Just had a 'nice' cycle into work in a head wind and hail stones. I got the impression from Bob's message above that he was road biking on Sunday, stopping off at Meelmore. I do plan on cycling on Sunday but plan to go home to watch the rugby or Man U (can't decide which) at 2.....so it kinda of depends how far off into the country everyone plans on heading as to whether I go on my own or with you guys. If anyone has any thoughts as to routes and planned distance on Sunday post it up here so I can decide what to do....although I still may change my mind and have a go at the old trailquest. Anyway let me know what you all have planned.

I'll not be able to make it this weekend as I have some work that needs to be finished for Monday.
Hopefully I'll be able to get out next weekend.
