Apologies for delay ...... report as follows ........... 11 bright eyed and bushy tailed persons met at the square , some wearing their latest Christmas pressies ... nice gear and gadgets Davy R, Steven W, Bernie, Sonia, Jim, Stephen P, Michael, Gavin, Alan, a mystery disguised cyclist and me. A few bike mechanics delayed our start but we got going towards Crossgar at 10:20am. We took the back roads to Listooder - only then we all figured out who our mystery cyclist companion was ...... Mr Jess was so wrapped up it took 3 miles to work out who he was ... ..into Saintifield, road towards Killyleagh - everyone staying together in a great wee pelaton. Into Killyleagh where birthday boy Stevie W (21 again) called to wish Pete a Happy Christmas. Pace setters Michael and Steven P did a fab job towing the whole team to Strangford where we stopped for yummy scrummy beans on toast and Alan had xmas pud, we got our toes warmed up and had lots of banter JR met us there. Homeward bound .. the blue bird and Lance (a.k.a Davy and Gavin) lead us back up that crackin hill out of Strangford. Sonia and Bernie then took over at the front as they reckoned 'behind any good men there were far better women' !! (lol) Through the Quoile, bombed down Annacloy hill, main road to Ballynahinch... where a few stopped for some liquid refreshments Great days cycling... great craic and I reckon we got the best day's weather in a long time. Will post photos up as soon as I can.
