I wasn't able to go out the night on the tow path as I was on 'daddy' duties. I did however call round to see the lads off. On such a lovely mild night I was gutted to not be heading off with the lads. Out tonight were Dennis, Alan, Stewart, BL and Stephen Heasley. Ronnie was down with 'man flu' and there were a few other cry offs. We are just waiting for a report from Stewart however my spies have informed me of the following.... I'm very dissappointed in Dennis for letting the side down !!! See you all tonight for the club xmas dinner.

Five gathered tonight for their weekly dose of Towpath Adventure. Dennis, Alan, Gary G, Stewart and Stephen Heasley. Martin met us at the Island centre to see us off but he was not participating. Rumour has it the when he heard that the Trail Quest Team “ 8-)The Losers ” were coming and how fast they are he chickened out choosing not to come, loser, I mean chicken ;D. Dennis thinks he might have phoned a few other guys (Noel, Gary, Ronnie etc) to let them know we were coming and that’s why they didn’t show as well, chickens With no rain the weather was quite nippy with light winds the five hardcore riders headed off shortly after seven. Ronnie, sorry, I mean Alan leading with Dennis and Stewart on his wheel and the rest on tow. After a few of miles I had to shout at Alan to let him know that it wasn’t a Trail Quest or a race that he was in, he had us all busted riding along at 19mph After the stop at the Bridge Dennis took lead and towed us to the Giants Ring. This was as slippery and slimy as I have ever seen it and was proved challenging but great fun to keep the bike pointed in the right direction! At the end of the green bushy lane after avoiding the bicycle and 2 cars I heard that Gary and Dennis each had a bit of a freestyle moment but both stayed rubber side down Belvoir Forrest was a challenging as ever with the steep climb up “Horsepower Hill” towards the light into the car park never failing to disappoint . The rest of the path through the forest was in good condition allowing a good pace to be set by Gary. The Lagan Meadows and Barnetts Hill proved quite easy tonight The run back towards Lisburn was brisk with Gary at the sharp end and the rest on tow and Jack Frost joining us for the Run back. I took lead from the metal bridge until blowing up with Dennis coming through to lead. He took off at a fast pace with us all on tow before hitting the rev limiter too allowing the pace to slow a bit. As usual I broke off at Coke but the guys headed back to Island Centre for Close to 9 o’clock with approx 21 miles done at a fast pace. Had a great night, looking forward to the Dinner tonight, the Leisure run on Sunday and the Tow path Next week. PS Just read Martins entry, and its official. We have a grasser in the ranks Stewart
