Have been in Manchester over the past few days and went on a taster session on the velodrome ..very exciting... I loved it. ;D ;D I was just like Victoria Pendleton 
Got me thinking, it can't be too difficult if there was a few of us interested to head over for the day/ or few days ?
Fights at the weekend are ridiculous .... but mid week with Ryan Air from Dublin they are 10/15 euro one way. You can go there and back on the same day (total 20/30 euro) (hand luggage only/ online check in)
Looked at flybe.co.uk .... flights from Belfast city .. £40 return leaving Monday evening - back Wednesday night (taster session tues/ wed)
Velodrome is open Tues - Sun daily. There are taster sessions essential for beginners (lasting 1 hour) every day between 12;00 - 1:00pm . They have 2 taster sessions on a Thursday and Sunday ( 5-6pm aswell as 12 - 1 pm)
Sessions cost £ 9.40 which includes bike hire and instruction.
It's not too difficult to catch a train from Manchester airport into the city and the velodrome is 2 miles away.
