Aghagallon Cup Races for A4, Women and Youth this Sunday The 40th annual race for the Aghagallon Cup takes place next Sunday at Bartins Bay, near Lurgan promoted by Clann Eireann. A full programme of youth races are also planned, as is Round 2 of the SportActive UWA Women’s League. The main event, for category A4 riders has already a full entry. There is also the second round of the SportActive UWA women’s league and entry can still be got on line at the www.clanncc.net website. Due to the small circuit, traffic, road safety and consideration of residents living on the circuit the club unfortuntately cannot facilitate an over 50's Masters race. Youth cyclists can enter on the day. The race plan is… Sign On….from 10.00 AM till 30 minutes before your race. Great race at Bartins Bay. Limit had 3mins on scratch and we were not making any ground on them after 2 laps, attacks were started by some girls in scratch and the group was not working well together to make any ground on limit. Val started to move off the front and then Therese came up to her as well. I jumped on and a break was formed in the 3rd lap. We worked relentless to stay away and on the last lap really dug in to catch limit. Kelly from spires cc came with us and on the finishing straight Val took the win from Kelly and I just managed to pip THerese to third place. An enjoyable race which was hard work but rewarding. Next UWA race is 17th April , McCann cup, Omagh.....any other ladies doing this race ?
