One of those mornings were the phrase, "am I wise", comes to mind. The rain was falling up-wards and sideways (?) the wind was so strong when I left the house. Fair few DCC appeared at the start in Ards, Paul, Deek, BL, Ross, Darren, Davy. Two groups as it seemed many were put off by the anti-gravity rain.
The road down the coast to Portaferry was blowy and wet mainly to do with the sea spray, ( it was 'chucking' miserable) Paul provided some entertainment, ignoring the advice and setting off on at least three lone breaks off the front in gale force winds, interesting tactics. The pace in the main group yoyoed with the gusts of wind but we survived to the turn.
From Portaferry, the eyeballs out stuff started, 30mph+, the scratch group caught the main-group and after lining out the group split. It slowed again as we turned into the wind again at the Bangor roundabouts. A good run, nice to be in a big group again, well done to Northern for putting it on.
Deek had a bit of spill, pushed over by the wind, hope the ankle isn't too bad and your back on the bike as soon as.

Good run today on my first Reliability or maybe un-reliability! Two punctures due to glass in tyre. Anyway it was a great, much needed experience riding in a large group. Thanks to NCC. Hope your ankle gets better soon Deek

Well,my ankle is broke in 2 places It happened in a split second and feel so stupid. After i got dropped i took a short cut and headed up to Ards from D'dee. I slowed down and was munchin a bar when a gust of wind made me wobble and i hit the kerb.( It was'nt a big gust either!)Got my foot out but some how caught it on the grass. I heard a crack and thought #''$%&. Got up but could'nt put any weight on it. 2 Maryland guys stopped with me and put my chain on and i rode on for mile or 2.I could'nt go on an pulled over. A few minutes later a guy in a car stopped to see if i was ok. He used to ride for North Down gave me a lift back to Ards. Eventually got home and Noeline took me to casualty to confirm what i thought Im sittin here with a cast on which is like two bags of sugar straped to it. All this and i was ice skating last night for 3 hours!!! Thanks to Darren,Davy,Elvis,Ross for the support in Ards. The 2 Maryland guys,BL for the lift home and especially to Andrew Coffey for the lift back to Ards. And thanks to all the massages of ssupport on this board.

Deek, you should have stuck to MTB. Far, far safer. Ask that Elvis man!!
Take it easy now and get plenty of rest. I don't envy the frustation you will feel over the coming weeks not being able to get out on the bike. You'll be missed on the tow path but don't go rushing your recovery. The season hasn't started yet.

Deek very sorry to hear about the broken foot, hope its not to long before your back on the bike.
Just to say thanks guys for turning out today, the weather made things very hard today but it was great to see a great turn out from Dromara.
A total of £252 was raised for the chest, heart and stroke society. Hopefully next year we might get good weather..
