I "know" that fella. He has caught up with me a couple of mornings cycling into belfast, he is clocking 1k miles a month commuting alone, and had been doing it solidly on a specialized tricross. I thought I did a lot of miles til I got talking to that boy. Back in January i missed the first 3 weeks of commuting with the snow and sheet ice over the roads and still he was tanking past my bus every morning when it was sitting in Ballynahinch in the mornings. two weeks ago when we had that freaky two days of snow and gales, yes, he still cycled. I rode in on the tuesday when I had a booting gale blowing me the whole way in, but the weather got worse and worse as the day went on, and the wife lifted me. Coming out of carryduff with a gale blowing in from the front of him and to the right... there he was... leant over into the wind battling away. He is not right in the head. And I am pretty sure he is on here as he told me he has been on a club run or two but isnt a member as he is too tired at the weekends to seriously think about doing a big pile. A bit of a legend! If he's reading this, you know my green on-one pompino... but I am on gears now so your gonna have to push off earlier or go really hard to catch me these mornings

Aye, gingerbreadman, I was coming up the road on the MTB yesterday evening and saw that boy. He was on a fixie or a single and had a reflective back pack on. He was really moving on the Magheraconluce road when I saw him. Saw him one other day too, coming hammering up the towpath on that yoke as well. He wasn't hanging about. ;D If he's putting in 1K miles a month I wouldn't doubt it, especially if he's working in Belfast and by the looks of it they're 1K brave fast miles a month too!

He's on a specialized Langster set up using a freewheel. Not that you could ever tell with the power he is putting through the pedals. Rides a specialized tricross the rest of the time.
He caught me on monday. Gutted!
