2 The cycle from Downpatrick Cricket Club leaves at 10am for Castlewellan via Clough. Then Newcasle, back to Clough and round the coast to Strangford before heading back to the Cricket Club. There is also a 10 mile family cycle to Clough and back at the same time[might suit the recovering Welshman]

Downpatrick sounds the best bet as we will be going to support SGW nearer the end of the month.

Hi Bob, Thanks for the text message, I have been off the bike for a few weeks due to a combination of illness and work commitments.
Will be there on Sunday.
Are peolpe cycling to Downpatrick and if so is there a meeting time e.g. B'nahinch 9/9.15 a.m.?
What is the SGW at the end of the month?
Stephen

Is 9:15 early enough to ride down? Remember we have to sign in. At normal speed we will not be there until 9:50 remembering that we have to sign in and there is always the chance of getting a puncture. Add to that someone being late. Would leaving Ballynahinch at 9 not suit better? If you say meeting it will be nearer 9:30 before we set off.

The charity run was really good it didnt feel like a leisure run on the tandem racing to the thirties our average speed was 19.2. There was a good turnout especially the Dromara club with two tandems so i hope there will be a good lot out for the coastal

Thanks Stephen, luckily Jimmy from Downpatrick caught up with us. It really is time we had a few lessons on bike maintenance.

Bike maintenance ........... I definitely think a lesson on how to fix a puncture would be good (I'm not admitting to being a dumb blonde though)....... I suggested at the TT last night that us girlies could teach you racing lads on 'how to shave your legs without getting nicks or how to apply fake tan without streaks' in exchange for showing us how to change a puncture in 30secs ... and giving us some explanation to all this 'bloke bike lingo'.....
