Steven P, Nigel, Gary, Steven W, Marcus, Peter B, Bernie at the square on a hot Saturday Morning - strange weather - Fritz's Garmin tours took us on a 60 - Saintfield, Ballygowen, Coast, Killyleagh, Strangford, Coast, inland to Downpatrick on wee roads, and back to Bhinch. Food stop in Strangford. Winter bikes and full thermals was the wrong way to go, great views over the Lough as always and good to be back amongst the Saturday crew.

Quick update to what we were up to over the long weekend ......... would recommend it to anyone
Packed the panniers ....... I managed to keep weight down to 11 pounds .... left the kitchen sink behind Wed afternoon after work we set out on our epic adventure... 1st stop Monaghan ... reckoned we could just get there before dark if we averaged 15mph.............. my how we were wrong ... carrying the extra weight means it's so hard up hills, you have difficulty getting out in the saddle ... and of course I got a puncture!!!!!... so more like 13mph ... no time for food stop - shoved a bottle of coke down our necks in Forkhill and bombed down side roads, lit up like Xmas trees .... got there at 6pm exhausted and hungry. Thursday... Donegal here we come .... awesome route in the back of beyond - only thing we could see was turf, turf and more turf ....... sun was splitting the skies, views were awesome. Friday ... rainy start ... decided on a 50miler instead of 75miles .... got an awesome tail wind through the valley ..... woosh ... woosh ..... had a great day walking the walls of Derry and had a few pints. Saturday: Headed to Portstewart - again sun was shining, views round this part of the coast were brill.... empty roads, waterfalls to one side, beaches to the other ... just makes you smile Sunday........weather was pants .... rain, wind, hail ..... felt I was getting pelted by stones... climbs up Torr Head were so bloomin hard, as we got pushed down by the floods.... would have been better equipped with flippers and arm bands ..... but we found out our panniers were actually water proof! ... Arrived into Carnlough to a welcoming open fire.. Monday .... last day of holiday .. went round the coast to Kilroot and went on the cycle path from Carrickfergus to Belfast. Got to say the cycle paths are well signed and pretty decent ....
